Background

“Better Letter” was a transfer type produced by C-Thru Graphics, a division of the C-Thru Ruler Co. of Bloomfield, CT. Better Letter sheets are marked “Printed in the U.S.A. by Visitype”.

Products

The sheets came in 3 sizes:

  1. Mini Better Letter: 3" x 7.5" sheets, enclosed in a 3.75" x 8.5" window envelope featuring a list of available typefaces on the outside, list by number rather than name.
  2. Demi Better Letter: 8" x 12.25" sheets, accompanied by a cardboard backing sheet that featured a list of available typefaces printed on the back.
  3. Better Letter: 12.25" x 16" sheets The Better Letter sheets, sometimes featuring multiple sizes groups onto a single sheet.
